Latin name: Camelina sativa
Family: Brassicaceae
Agronomic characteristics
This crucifer does not produce as much biomass as other crucifers (about 50% of that of a white mustard). This may make it easier to burrow than a tall species. Its flowering is a little earlier than that of a mustard and care must be taken if it is sown early to destroy it before the production of viable seeds. Less susceptible to disease and pests than other crucifers. Very easy and fast establishment.
