Latin name: Linum usitatissimum
Family: Linaceae
Agronomic characteristics
Linseed is occasionally grown as a cover crop, often alongside other species in mixtures. The mechanical operations behind developed linseed covers can however be difficult, the stems tending to wind around the axles or hubs... Oil varieties are less succeptible to that. This is not a cover producing high biomass but provide flower for biodiversity and keep soil clean.
