Today, rapeseed needs to withstand drought at the start and end of the cycle, adapt to insect attacks in autumn and improve nitrogen efficiency. 10 years ago, these challenges were not as acute.To help farmers increase their harvests and yields now and in the future, Lidea restructured its R&amp;D programme 10&nbsp;years ago to meet today’s challenges.Thanks to the work carried out by our breeders, this new flow is the result of a gamble on the future and an innovative method combining a scientific approach and fieldwork. The result: high-performance hybrids that meet the challenge of responding to all the specific needs of farmers.Our varieties launched in 2023 exceed European rapeseed standards, as shown by the results obtained in all the official trials and distributor trials.Our achievements are now being noticed across Europe’s agricultural sector. Yields were excellent and the consistency of results was impressive.For sowing in 2024, Lidea is offering 3 additional hybrids (LID INVICTO, LID TEBO and LID CALIENTO) with equally strong yield performance as well as resistance to the TuYV virus transmitted by aphids.The next generation looks just as promising.
