Why Safety Matters in the Seed Industry?

At Lidea, safeguarding the health and safety of our teams is a top priority, and to that end, we’ve made the decision to implement ISO 45001 standard certification  across all our operational sites. This voluntary initiative—uncommon within our sector—brings structure and standardisation to our approach, creating an ever-safer working environment for our employees.

Pioneering Safety Standards: ISO 45001 Certification

We are especially proud to be pioneers in this area among seed companies and agribusiness of our size and profile, achieving certification for several sites across Europe. In France, our Lescar facility led the way in 2017 with OHSAS 18001 certification (now replaced by ISO 45001), followed by our facilities in Seville, Spain, and Tcherkasy, Ukraine, where even our agricultural production is also certified. Most recently, in April 2024, our site in Braila, Romania, achieved ISO 45001 certification. In September 2024, this site reached a remarkable milestone: 1,000 days without an accident—a collective success celebrated internally to recognise and thank all teams involved.
