CHOOSE THE FIELD
OBJECTIVE: Obtain good root development
- Soybean can be cultivated in many soil types. However, limestone soils should be avoided where lime content is higher than 10%. Such soils can cause iron chlorosis, limit nodulation and dramatically reduce soybean growth.
- If there is no irrigation, avoid soils with low water retention capacity (superficial clay-limestone soils, sand, etc.), which result in low yields and more irregular protein content.
