The sorghum dynamic is accelerating thanks to new research partnerships
February 10, 2022
As the leader in the sorghum market in Europe, Lidea is taking part in a new research project.
In 2022, a 4-year research project named NITROSORGH is launched to better understand and identify the quality of sorghum in particular about the content and digestibility of proteins and their suitability for poultry feed. Supporting the growth of this ancient grain and the world’s 5th cereal in terms of acreage, Lidea contributes to this reflection thanks to its experience in the field and its research expertise on sorghum. In average, sorghum have more 2 or 3% protein, 1% starch and more poultry energy than maize which make this crop very attractive for potential gains in animal feed.
New European or international research projects on sorghum must see the light of day to develop the dynamics of this sector imposed by climate change. With climate change, the need to change our way of cultivating is in the spirit of the times.
