LIDEA AT THE HEART OF ISSUES RAISED AT SARA 2023

In just five editions, SARA has positioned itself as the reference trade fair for farming and animal resources in sub-Saharan Africa. With over 300,000 participants expected to attend, SARA 2023, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, aims to showcase, promote and develop the wealth of assets in Côte d’Ivoire’s farming, livestock and fisheries sectors. Lidea’s teams will take part from 29 September to 8 October to present our range of products and solutions and promote our expertise among local actors.

THE HISTORY OF SARA

SARA has become the reference trade fair for farming in sub-Saharan Africa. Following a sixteen-year gap, SARA (Salon International de l’Agriculture et des Ressources Animales d’Abidjan) was relaunched by the Ivorian government in 2015. The 5th edition of SARA, held from 22 November to 1 December 2019, was a resounding success in terms of both organisation and outcomes. Nearly 30 countries are represented at SARA, on 20 hectares of exhibition space, with over 800 exhibitors.

LIDEA AT THE HEART OF THE ISSUES RAISED AT SARA 2023

At Lidea, as a seed company and the first link in securing the food chain, we have been working on these issues for a long time. For over 80 years, our expertise in seeds and our research and development have enabled us to bring out the best in nature and support farmers in their vocation: feeding the planet.

It is therefore natural for Lidea to participate in the SARA 2023 fair, with a traditional and constructive approach to selling its seeds, but also to developing local farming in partnership with local actors. Lidea contributes its know-how in the field of farming and supports farmers and local actors through a structuring approach offering advice and training. “This Congress offers us a major platform to develop business and raise our profile with participants and the seed ecosystem in Africa. It was also an opportunity to receive Jean-Christophe Belliard, the French Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, at our stand and to present our activities on the African continent to him,” emphasised Julien Chedeville, Export Manager for the Africa market.

LIDEA, A MULTI-CROP OFFER

At the fair, Lidea’s teams will present the wide range of seeds on offer, including corn, sunflower, cereals, rapeseed, soybean and sorghum.

Lidea’s varieties are adapted to Africa’s soil and climate conditions, to help farmers secure production in the face of climate change and shifting rainy seasons.

Lidea works on very early varieties to secure one or two crop cycles in the rainy season and allow another cycle under irrigated conditions. The productivity of our hybrids remains the main selection criterion for Lidea’s teams. Spread across 19 research stations, our teams guarantee a constant flow of genetic and varietal innovations and top-of-the-range solutions to meet the technical, agronomic, soil, climate and commercial needs of every farmer in Africa. These innovations deliver value to farmers.

Lidea aims to offer top-quality non-GMO certified seeds, guaranteeing complete traceability to ensure customer satisfaction. Lidea has high-performance, quality laboratories, located as close as possible to industrial plants, to guarantee quality from harvesting and throughout the industrial process, right up to seed bagging.
Lidea offers solutions to farmers seeking to make the transition to agroecology, by developing farming practices that are both positive for the environment and profitable: climate adaptation, making the most of water resources, soil preservation, etc.

Lidea supports farmers, helping them to find outlets and to structure supply chains for animal feed (poultry, fish, livestock) and human food. It is through the development of agriculture and the structuring of agri-food value chains that farmers will be able to achieve efficient production. Lidea offers new economic opportunities for farmers to secure their income.

Our objective is the success of your farming project.
