SOIL AND CLIMATE REQUIREMENTS FOR CORN
The corn hybrid precocity (FAO) should be selected in accordance with the geographic location of the field, climate and the intended use.
It is possible to grow corn in any soil position. Nevertheless, in very heavy positions and in lighter soils, difficulties may arise, for which it is important to be prepared. The plant is very tolerant of forecrops, it has good monoculture tolerance, but it is recommended to grow corn after plants that fertilise the soil well, e.g., leguminous, root crops after manure. Corn is suitable for cultivation throughout Europe. By selecting a variety with the appropriate precocity for the region you can achieve a satisfactory grain or silage yield.
