PRE-SOWING CORN
When sowing corn, it is important to focus on careful preparation of the soil. This is the key step to obtain high yields.
Spring treatments should be kept to a minimum and it is recommended to plough before winter, as young corn seedlings are sensitive to soil subsidence. The depth of sowing corn seeds depends on the type of soil, on average between 4 - 6 cm. If seeds are not sown deeply enough, they are more likely to be impacted by birds like crows, resulting in less regular and homogeneous emergence.
