The oilseed complex is still struggling, particularly oils. Even though demand for palm oil has picked up slightly in recent weeks, general rationing is gaining the upper hand. Furthermore, despite the fact that the fundamentals vary from crop to crop, there is much less tightness than before. On the whole, the support levels on the various markets could be reached; whether or not they are maintained may be determined by the outcome of Europe’s energy crisis or the escalation of the war in Ukraine.
The ProFarmer Crop Tour signalled the end of the crisis for cereals which have lost a lot of ground since early August. The resumption of exports from Ukraine has brought a great deal of pressure to bear on global prices given the excellent competitiveness of the supply from that part of the world. This increase in trade is the main reason why cereal prices will ease over the next few months.
