Oilseed complex

The oilseed market is extremely firm thanks to tightness for soya and palm oil, but also for Canadian canola whose exports are extremely buoyant. Only the comfortable fundamentals in Europe are likely to limit the potential for an increase on both old and new crop. Given the tightness at international level, therefore, there is no room for a weather incident for rapeseed which remains the least tight factor of the complex. Cereals complex

2022 was an eventful year. After the sad situation in the Black Sea, the economic and energy crisis and its effects on global growth are in the limelight. On the cereal market, traders have now taken the easing balance sheet for wheat on board but prices are now being underpinned by concerns about the weather. Firstly, and with regard to maize, South America is experiencing persistent drought; and secondly, with regard to new-campaign wheat, crop ratings are historically low in the USA.
