OBJECTIVE: Varieties with good tolerance and good crop management

  • Attack at basis of stem (collet) and roots, important lodging observed with fast drying of the plant and the panicle
  • Favorable factors: very hot temperature before flowering time, rapid growth of plants, high density of sowing and high nitrogen level
  • Pests of weakness: in risk situations, avoid sowing sensitive varieties, limit the vegetative development of the crop by providing only the necessary nitrogen rate and reduce the sowing densities.
